# Oath

> Oath is a free, open-source, self-custody (non-custodial) crypto wallet for iPhone. Slogan: “A wallet, not a marketplace.” Keys, recovery phrases and passkeys stay on the user’s device; Oath never holds or controls funds and cannot recover, reverse or freeze anything.

- Formerly named Aperture: Oath was previously called Aperture (Aperture Wallet / “Aperture BTC Crypto Wallet” on the App Store). It is the same app, now renamed Oath Wallet; the source code repository is still named “aperture”.
